Learn About Stephanie Liebling...

I am a Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker in Kansas (LSCSW). This means I have completed a Masters degree in Social Welfare, practicums, and over 4,000 hours of supervised practice in Clinical Social Work. I passed the Kansas Licensed Master’s Social Worker exam and the Kansas Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker Exam. Additionally, I have received a license to practice in Missouri (LSCW). My Master’s degree training was in the Strengths Perspective and I have sought out additional therapeutic skills in Bowen Family Systems Theory.

Previously I have received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Kansas State University and an Associate of Arts and Sciences in Sign Language Interpretation from Johnson County Community College. I have worked for almost a decade with children, adolescents, adults, families and couples.

My fluency in American Sign Language has allowed me to work within the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community, providing therapeutic services.

I specialize in Play Therapy – a specialized treatment modality that involves specific techniques and is usually used with children from ages 4-13. In addition to the 4,000 hours of supervised therapeutic practice for my clinical license, I have completed over 150 hours of continuing education specific to Play Therapy and clinical supervision in the practice of Play Therapy.

Post-licensure I have developed my skills by attending over XXX hours of continuing education courses, and many thousands of hours of counseling experience. I have been fortunate to have supervised several social work master’s students in their practicum locations.

Recognizing the need for therapists with sign language fluency skills and Play Therapy skills, I established my private practice in 2006. I provide individual, couples and family therapy across the life span.

I have also provided a page that includes my training, affiliations and education, should you desire additional information on my background.
